WebFeb 9, 2014 · Is the 11mm TeleVue Plossl a good idea? The 11mm TV Plossl, IMO, is the best of the litter. Eye relief a little tight though, typical for the Plossl design though. The 8mm, even tighter. However, if finger prints are the problem, that is nothing that a Q-Tip and a little denatured alcohol will fix in no time. So just clean your current 10mm! WebNov 7, 2005 · The Televue Plossls are excellent EPs and the 20mm is my favorite also. It has comfortable eye relief and Barlows well. I have recently upgraded to Pans and Naglers, but plan to keep the Televue Plossls. TeleVue Plossls have concave eye and field lenses which provide a very well-corrected outer field. The field is flat and sharp to the edge in my f/5 Dobs. The faintest stars on-axis will still be seen as they drift out of the field of view.
WebJan 6, 2024 · The TV plossl has a fov of 50d and variable eye relief depending on the focal length. The 8mm is quite tight on eye relief which some people do not get on with. The quality of the TV plossl optics are very good, tested down to f/ 4 . The sharpness of view I have personally found very good . A quality eyepiece at realistic money IMO Alan White

I can recall that optical bench testing of eyepiece groups done by the french magazine "Ciel et Espace" a few years back showed the Tele Vue products in a very favourable light compared to some stiff opposition.
