WebOct 3, 2007 · TV Plossls in short focal lengths give great planetary views without breaking the bank, but the eye relief is terrible for me. I did some comparisons to see if using a good barlow (a TV 2X barlow in my case) with some longer f/l Plossls would give views better than the TMB Planetaries. WebApr 19, 2024 · For the $155 that a Televue Plössl costs, one can buy a 32mm GSO Plössl, a 12mm Paradigm/Starguider ED, and with $15 more an 8mm Paradigm/Starguider. Those eyepieces would be a better way to spend money on improving a beginners observing experience than the Televue. #12 25585 James Webb Space Telescope Posts: 18,801 … WebFeb 15, 2024 · I found them inferior in performance to the TeleVue Plossls. If you want to stick in a similar price range, I'd look at this BST 6mm or this enhanced 66* eyepiece (Synta OEM, but same as the Orion Expanse) for higher power options. Also, if eye relief isn't a big deal to you, I'd recommend these BCO's. WebMar 16, 2024 · Ideally you have a 32 mm Plossl for the lowest powers Baader zoom plus the zoom but I'd choose something other than the TeleVue. I like TeleVue eyepieces but prefer other Plossls. A $40 Celestron Plossl is fine. You also might consider the Celestron zoom, it's quite good and provides an AFoV of about 5° less across the board than the Baader. … folding work table with wheels

WebFeb 9, 2014 · Is the 11mm TeleVue Plossl a good idea? The 11mm TV Plossl, IMO, is the best of the litter. Eye relief a little tight though, typical for the Plossl design though. The 8mm, even tighter. However, if finger prints are the problem, that is nothing that a Q-Tip and a little denatured alcohol will fix in no time. So just clean your current 10mm!
