WebThe native Quileute people gave the Sol Duc its name, which means ‘sparkling waters.’ The Quileute have long relied on these waters and the many other rivers of the Olympic Peninsula for food. The Sol Duc supports legendary stocks of steelhead trout as well as large runs of chinook and coho salmon as they return to the river to spawn each year.
