WebThe Civil Court division is organized into sections for Circuit Civil and County Civil cases. The Circuit Civil section handles most civil cases when the amount in dispute is more than $15,000. The County Civil section offers a simplified Small Claims procedure for most cases with less than $5000 in dispute. WebThe District Court of Maryland has exclusive jurisdiction in civil matters of claims involving $5, 000 or less. Claims involving amounts above $5,000 and below $25,000 may be filed in the Circuit Court as well as in the District Court. The Distri ct Court does not have jurisdiction of claims
