WebJul 28, 2024 · I have some Black Diamond, Petzl, and Princeton Tec headlamps. The one I use most is still my Fenix HL21. 1x AA with 3,47,97 lumens. Has a diffuser for it to go from spot to flood. I like the LED centered and runs on AA so I'm picking up a Fenix HL35. Runs on 2xAA or 2x14500. 0.5, 30, 70, 200 lumens with 450 lumens turbo. WebThe reason I don't reccomend cheaper products is because the LED drivers (at least in the past) have not been as efficient. This means less on time per set of batteries than petzl for example. Not a big deal for taking a leak in the middle of the night, but it is if you're hiking hours at a time by headlamp. level 2. WebI've used the BD Storm, Petzl Tikka (2011 lower end model), but currently run with a Petzl RXP due to preference of the rechargeable lithium battery. For the price, the BD Storm is great! Used it for running in heat/rain/snow, general hiking and snowshoeing, no failures yet after a few seasons. I concur.
